Various activities and treatments are available at these facilities, which are great for both day trips and overnight stays. Read on to learn more about five great locations within a short drive from Boise!
One of the hot springs areas to visit is Kirkham Hot Springs. This facility features various natural pools that reach temperatures up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. Kirkham Hot Springs also has multiple trails that can be used for different activities, such as fishing and hiking. It's a great place to take in all the area offers. Please note that Kirkham Hot Springs is open for day use only from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; parking is at an additional cost.
Gold Fork Hot Springs is located about two and a half hours away from Boise. The facility has several pools and a beautiful view of the surrounding forests and mountains. Gold Fork Hot Springs offers a variety of activities, such as camping and hiking. It is a must-visit for those looking for a relaxing and peaceful experience. An admission charge applies to persons of all ages.
The Pine Flats Hot Springs are an excellent place for those who love to soak in the hot springs and relax. Two types of pools are available at this location: a natural one and a maintained one. The former features a more natural environment, while the latter is heated and kept. During the summer, you can enjoy the area's wildlife, such as deer, ducks, and wildflowers! This campground has sites available on a first-come, first-served basis and does accept reservations.
Boat Box Hot Springs is about 3 hours away from Boise. To reach this location, drive through Lower Stanley and follow Highway 75. After passing the town of Stanley, you'll see a mining cauldron with steaming hot springs water and a view of the Salmon River. After reaching the pull-off, take a deep breath and enjoy the spring's warm waters.
Situated just an hour from Boise, The Springs at Idaho City features several large pools and seven individually-maintained soaking tubs. This location has various amenities, such as a picnic area, a zip line, restrooms, and a changing room. Regardless of your preferences, you'll find it the ideal place to experience Idaho's hot springs.
