Recycle Your Christmas Tree in Boise

Once the fun of the holidays has subsided, it's time to recycle your Christmas tree. Christmas trees can be recycled for mulch in community parks and playgrounds, turned into fish habitats in local lakes and ponds, or even erosion control. Several services and locations in the Boise area offer ways for you to recycle or discard your undecorated holiday tree.
Locations in the area include:
Ada County Landfill - 10300 N. Seaman’s Gulch Rd., Boise (free drop-off between December 27 - January 7, 2022)
Kohlerlawn Cemetary - 76 6th St N, Nampa (drop off M-F from Dec. 26 through Jan. 15)
City of Caldwell Forestry Department - U.S. West parking lot, corner of 21st and Arthur, Caldwell (drop off until January 15th)
Canyon County Landfill - 15500 Missouri Ave, Nampa (trees can be dropped off in the green waste area)
Meridian Transfer Station - 2130 W Franklin, Meridian (drop off until January 13th)
Boy Scout Pick Up - Different troops sometimes offer Christmas tree pickup for recycling for only the cost of a donation. Contact the Mountain West Council for participating troops.
Republic Services - As part of your standard curbside compost pickup in Boise, Meridian, Garden City, and Mountain Home, discard your Christmas tree quickly as you put out your green container. Cut up your tree into 4-foot sections to ensure it is picked up.
