As one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, you’ll find that breweries and taprooms are just as popular as coffee shops.  From beer newbies to IPA devotees, the Boise breweries are delivering sudsy and hoppy delights of all kinds all over town. If you’re in the City of Trees, you’re in the perfect place for some outstanding beer! Grab a friend and check out some of these popular breweries.

Barbarian Brewery

Two locations: Downtown Boise and Garden City

Do you like experimental beer? Beer with unique flavors like peanut butter, mango, or maple? Barbarian Brewery is offering some of those most unique options you’ll find in the area. If you’re a beer traditionalist, don’t stress - you’re welcome here, too.

White Dog Brewing

Location: 705 W Fulton Street, Boise, Idaho 83702

For a brewery that started in someone’s garage, White Dog Brewing now offers a beverage for all levels of beer drinkers. IPAs, Hefeweizens, sours, and plenty in between are perfect if you want to try a variety of different beer in one setting!

Bear Island Brewing

Location: 1620 N Liberty Street, Boise, Idaho 83704

Have you ever tried potato inspired beer? A popular pour from Bear Island is their Idaho® Potato Ale - that is actually made with russet potatoes. You’ll also find a variety of IPAs and fruity Kolsch beer if that’s more your style. They also host a variety of local food trucks every week to eat while enjoying their beer selections.

Clairvoyant Brewing

Location: 2800 W. Idaho Street, Boise, ID 83702

Another wide variety of craft beer awaits you at Clairvoyant Brewing. The laid-back vibes of the taproom and cool live music make this a great stop as you hop around the Boise breweries. A wide variety of beer and seltzers (they also have wine) are available for every palate.

Woodland Empire Ale Craft

Location: 1114 W Front Street, Boise, ID 83702

Founded in 2014, this is the third-largest brewery in Boise and the 6th largest in the state of Idaho. With beers as unique as their titles (like Battle Hammer and Big Sticky) and plenty of pinball machines, you’ll have to stick around to try all of their small-batch brews! Order food from next door and make an evening of it. It’s quirky, and there is something for everyone!

Boise may not be well known for its brewery scene yet, but it's growing fast! Large breweries, nano breweries, and every size in between continue to serve up some excellent beer across town. Plenty of places to stop on your next Boise brewery tour!
