Shopping small doesn’t just go for gifts and accessories - serve a local turkey for Thanksgiving! Several Boise-area farms are selling turkeys fresh from the farm that are perfect for Thanksgiving celebrations of any size. Plan ahead to make sure you can get the bird of your choice for this special day.

Back Forty Farm & Ranch

Get your pasture-raised holiday turkey from Back Forty Farm & Ranch! Place a $50 deposit for your very own turkey, raised on healthy snacks and GMO and hormone-free foods.

Tyson’s Topknot Farm

Check out Tyson’s Topknot Farm for turkey, chicken, eggs, and other goodies for your Thanksgiving table. Veggies and more are available from this popular local vendor.

Vogel Farms

If you’re seeking turkey or other meats that are raised on non-GMO feed, Vogel Farms is a perfect place to get your holiday turkeys. All reservations require a $15 deposit and are freshly butchered within a few days of your pickup.

Hen and Hare Microfarm

This microfarm is selling frozen turkeys through Boise Co-op this fall! Another excellent option for non-GMO, no hormones or no antibiotic fed meat.

Cunningham Pastured Meats

Offering grass-fed and finished meat at prices families can afford, Cunningham Pastured Meats has a variety of turkey options for this holiday! Seafood, other poultry, and other local goods are always available for purchase.

Choice Cuts

This locally-owned shop has been around since 1997 and offers a variety of smoked meats and jerky. Call in to place your order and get the latest pricing for your holiday turkey.

Supporting local farms and vendors can be so simple this Thanksgiving. Buying local food saves money in energy costs since the food doesn’t have to travel as far. Plus, eating locally reduces food waste. Enjoy a local turkey (or two) this holiday season!
