Boise Quarantine Activities to Try

We’ve hit the wall for our social distancing efforts - it’s been just over a month and our project lists are dwindling. The kids are starting to get antsy and we’re struggling to remember what regular life looked like just a few short weeks ago. The original novelty of staying home has long worn off and we’ve discovered what the word “bored” really means. However, there are still plenty of things we can try to enjoy around the house. Plus, who wants to try something new? A few local Boise businesses are offering different projects and kits that you can purchase to enjoy in your own home. Support a local business and keep yourselves entertained at home!.

Bake Up a Storm

If you’ve ever wanted to improve your baking skills, why not try it while we’re in quarantine? Flour Child is offering up kits for a variety of baked goods - macarons, s’mores, cookie dough, muffins, and more! Place your orders online and pick up all of your ingredients.

Become an Artist

Get your creativity flowing with one of the many art kits available from Quality Art. Order your preferred kit - coloring books, oil painting, water colors, pen & ink, and a variety of other options are available for shipping and curbside pickup.

Create Some Jewelry

If art isn’t necessarily your favorite, what about creating your own jewelry? Need to Bead in Boise is still selling beads online to ship or for curbside pickup. If you’re looking to make necklaces, bracelets, or earrings, Need to Bead has all of the supplies you’ll need for your custom creation.

Once you’ve read every single book you own or you’re dying for a new release, get your books delivered (if you’re local) or pick up from Rediscovered Books! They offer new titles as well as gently used books. Give them a call to see if they have what you’re looking for - they might even give you some personal recommendations!

“Throw a Party”

Throw a party in your own backyard with the party kits from Western Collective. Choose your beverage of choice - rosé, beer, or slushies and party all afternoon in your backyard pool or lawn. They’ve created packs that contain pool floaties, cups, hats, and more as you throw your own quarantine party. They deliver and offer curbside pickup!

What are you doing at home to fill the time? Try to add in a little fun if you can while we’re social distancing! We may have to be apart from the other people in our lives, but we can try to make the most of this time at home! Try something new and support a local Boise business while you’re quarantining.
